Association members train students!
YATED President Alpaslan Sirkecioğlu mentioned their cooperation with Haydarpaşa Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in his speech. Sirkecioğlu said, “23 students accepted to the YATED Workshop in the 2019-2020 academic year are now in the 12th grade and 18 of these students work as an intern in YATED member companies. In 2022, they are going to get their degrees and step into the sector or proceed with their undergraduate degree. Whatever they decide, I believe they will all have success in their life. This year, 32 students from the 10th grade were included in our project, and they will graduate in 2024. In the coming years, we will graduate at least 30 students each year and train valuable and useful staff for our industry and our country. Apart from the curriculum of the Ministry of National Education, our students will also be given motor training by our members, and visits will be made to get to know companies and workshops.
Our target: To bring service quality to automotive industry standards!
Suzuki Marine Operations and Mobility Business Development Group Manager Hakan Kozanoğlu stated that the issue of training effective human resources at world standards with a command of engine and equipment technology plays a critical role in solving the problem of intermediate staff. Kozanoğlu said, “Despite the outboard motor market that has developed in the last two years and has reached 8 thousand units per year, the human resources do not increase at the same rate and this situation causes customer expectations to be not met and waiting times are prolonged. Our expectation is to bring new faces to the sector under the leadership of the young people who will grow up from this class and to increase the service quality in the sector; to reach the standards of the automotive industry,” he stated.
“We immediately want to adapt our students to the field”
Kozanoğlu stated in his speech; “Suzuki Marine donated a 20-horsepower marine engine with an electronic ignition system, a diagnostic measuring device and a pool to enable students to put into practice their theoretical knowledge even in the classroom atmosphere. Moreover, while our support to education continues, we aim to adapt our students to the field as soon as possible by providing internship programmes both within our body and at our authorized services. It is our greatest wish to increase the number of examples of these initiatives aimed at our youth throughout the country. Suzuki Marine continues to support projects related to industry and the education of young people.”
Haydarpaşa Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Manager Lütfü Cevahir showed his appreciation to both YATED and the companies that supported the project and said, "I would like to inform you that we are ready to be mutual solution partners with other non-governmental organizations and businessmen."
